New:

Added the possibility to add additional and preferred EXIF / IPTC / XMP tags. Add preferred tags inside the preferences window, these always will be listed first in the main window under 'Add other tags', where you can also add other tags for one-time useage. Writeable tags unknown to exiftool will be marked by prepending them with a '?'.

Added tags that have no value or begin with a '?' are not processed. Valid tags with values are processed before everything else, to prevent overruling of other settings in SetEXIFData.

prepend text to a file names,

replace some text in a file name with nothing or other text,

append text to a file names. This useful for files with no extension.

Fix:

Keyword-entry is now handled correctly, when entering each keyword on a new line and/or separated by commas and/or (semi)colons.

Keywords are also added again to the 'subject' attribute, which is used by Preview and other Mac apps.

Keywords are now sorted and de-duplicated automatically.

These changes were necessary, since I found out that a lot has changed since 2008/2011, in the programming language and the Mac apps.

I dropped 32-bit support. Only the 64-bit application will be maintained.

Overstappen van een MacBook Pro uit 2012 naar een MaBook Pro uit 2019? Tsja, dan past geen enkele kabel meer, ook al je MagSafe1 adapters die je her der in huis hebt geplaatst passen niet meer. En wil je je mooie 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Display behouden, dan moet er iets gebeuren. Gelukkig bestaat de 'alleen-nog-USB-C' Mac al wat langer en zijn de adaptermakers druk in de weer geweest.

Zie hiernaast op de foto mijn keuze: Het LMP Compact Dock , te koop bij Appelhoes en een MagSafe1 & 2 adapter voor USB-C bij AliExpress . Daarvan bestel je er gelijk twee. Eén voor in het Compact Dock en één voor her en der in huis waar de oude MagSafe power-adapters in de stopcontacten zitten.

En voilá, met deze combinatie is de LED Cinema Display ook weer aangesloten, én de MacBook Pro laadt prima op. De 85W Power Adapter kan in de computertas, voor onderweg.

I was totally new to using Oracle Instant Client on macOS Mojave, so I had to spend days to figure out and try out on how to get it installed (easy) and how to get the oci8 shared library installed (the hard and most time-consuming part) for use with PHP at both the CLI and in Apache. I have been on many, many websites and read many, many instructions, and I want to thank everyone who put so much effort in clarifying something that actually should be very simple nowadays. After having read and tried so many tips and tricks, I ended up summarizing what worked for me, which I wrote down on Oracle Instant Client + OCI8 on Macos Mojave for PHP .

Smart Archives

Smart Archives is a feature to speed up loading of your blog. Its goal is to store archive links locally in a file, and with future requests of your webpage, read that file instead of querying Google again. The file is updated once a day, so one of your website visitors may experience slower loading times, but only when you have more than 500 posts in your archives.

There are some important settings on the server to get this to work.

The Smart Archives feature assumes a subfolder 'files', which normally is created when publishing a Stacks-page:



This folder must be writable by Apache (the webserver).

If you use Panic's Transmit , then you can see if that is the case.
In the following examples, I will show you how that looks and how you can change it:

If Apache is mentioned as 'owner', the folder is writable and you do not have to change anything.

When Apache is mentioned as 'group', you have to click the empty circle for 'group' only, leaving the 'world'-circle empty, and click 'Apply' (do not click 'Apply to Enclosed'):


In my case, 'files' is not writable by Apache, because Apache is not mentioned as 'owner' or 'group', and 'world' may not write:


Click the empty circles under 'Write' to make the folder writable by 'group' and 'world' (i.e. any user), and click 'Apply' (do not click 'Apply to Enclosed'):


The Blogspot.stack checks if the subfolder 'files' is writable or not. If not, it will function normally as before, and pull the archives from Google on each webpage request.
